Maxwell Thomas Schwolert of Lewisville, TX was set free from this world to be with Christ his Savior. He passed away with his family by his side at 7:15 p.m., Saturday, December 29th 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota at the age of 17. Max was stricken with an illness on the day after Christmas against which he fought with courage until his body could no longer sustain his life. Max is the cherished child of Tom and Melanie Schwolert and beloved brother to Jazmine and Zoey who were his best friends. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 19, 1995. Max was known for his caring nature and unique sense of humor. He loved golf and basketball and was very involved in youth ministry at Faith Lutheran Church in Flower Mound. He was admired by little children and his peers, leaving a legacy of love that affected many lives. Max joins his grandfather Norman W. Schwolert in heaven. He is survived by his parents and sisters, his grandparents Ruth Schwolert and David and Dixie Teig, along with many cousins, aunts and uncles. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service was held at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Forest Lake, MN on December 31, which welcomed 500 friends and family. A visitation was held at Faith Lutheran in Flower Mound, TX on Friday, January 4th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with more than 450 in attendance. Max's funeral was held at The Village Church in Flower Mound, TX at 10:30am on Saturday, January 5th. More than 1,200 from the community joined in this celebration of Max's life. A reception followed at Faith Lutheran Church. A private family burial followed. In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made to Faith Lutheran Church “Love to the Max” Youth Ministry Fund. Max's life has inspired many others to "Love to the Max." This saying was initiated by the family, while congregated in the hospital halls to pray and share stories about Max and his family. It captures Max's approach to life, inspired and perpetuated by his love for Jesus Christ. His father, Tom, said it well when he eulegized his son when he said, "Max was all about loving God and loving people."We invite you to live and help share the "Love to the Max" message. |
