My hearts bleeds for your loss. I did not know your beautiful son but I also have a 17 year old son and I cannot fathom life without him. I pray for God to give you and your family the strength to get through each day because only time will heal the pain. Eventually you will be able to make it through a whole day without shedding a tear. Everyone grieves in their own way and the healing time will vary. "I Can Only Imagine" was my sister's favorite song and we played it at her funeral too. Godspeed.

Melanie, you (and the entire Schwolert family) have been such an inspiration to everyone you have come in contact with on this life’s journey. I’ve been both blessed and humbled by the faith and love you have shown during this time of loss, and for the tremendous outpouring of love for your family by the community. Max was such an amazing young man. I’m compelled to wear my “Love To The Max” black and purple wrist bands every day in love and with a mother’s solidarity. I’ve have not had them off since the visitation. I keep you in my heart and in my prayers. Love to the Max - Susan

I saw your story on CNN. I was so saddened to hear about your loss. I thought about you the whole day. I know that the Lord will give the family just that bit of strength to move forward day by day. He is faithful. We will pray for you out here in California. A big hug to both sisters, mom and Dad...with much christian love.
